The JV Ebola

By Tammy Derouin

The Constitution doesn’t specify what is considered high crimes and misdemeanors.  The founders probably believed those in Congress, as well as the American people, would be able to identify such diabolical acts.  Congress has allowed the president free reign.  He has become a dictator and dictators have a way of doing whatever they want.  History shows time and time again, millions of people always seem to die at the hands of such rulers. There was a time when we knew how to recognize tyranny.  Now we applaud and welcome it into our homeland.

In September, the president stated that Ebola had very little chance of reaching our shore.  A few days later an infected man from Liberia entered the United States.  This president has a way of making grand proclamations only to come back later to clarify or state that someone underestimated the reality.  Of course, we know it’s never his fault.  I suppose this outbreak is the JV form of Ebola.
The director general of World Health Organizations said, “This is a social crisis, a humanitarian crisis, an economic crisis, and a threat to national security beyond the outbreak zones.”  Three weeks ago the president declared the outbreak a “national security priority.”

If this is a matter of national security, why hasn’t he imposed a travel ban?  As the executive, it is his responsibility to respond to national threats.  This is actually one of his duties outlined in the Constitution.  He blatantly ignores his sworn duty and spends more time golfing, doing the job of Congress or circumventing Congress altogether.

The president has failed on every issue and on every crisis. We have failed to hold Congress accountable.  We simply accept the insanity of this administration.  Each time he gets away with such unbelievable actions, he ups the ante.  The president openly gambles and raises the stakes because his wager is the American people.  If you do not value that which you bring to the table, you can afford to be reckless; the impending loss isn’t all that great.

The administration is actually trying to convince the American people the complete opposite of what we know to be true. Dr. Thomas Frieden, the director of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention feels that stopping people from entering the United States would actually put more Americans at a greater risk.  He said, “Though we might wish we can seal ourselves off from the world, there are Americans who have the right of return and many other people that have the right to enter this country.”  No, not if they pose a threat.

Lisa Monaco, assistant to the president for Homeland Security and Counter-terrorism, continues the mind-boggling narrative on travel bans.  She states, “They impede and slow down the ability of the United States and other international partners to actually get expertise and capabilities and equipment into the affected areas.”  She added that people are being screened by CDC officials when they leave West Africa.  There’s something about her demeanor that tells me she doesn’t even believe what she’s saying.

According to Breitbart.com, a whistleblower has claimed that since the first part of the year, over 3,500 people from Ebola infected nations have been allowed to enter the U.S. without any precautionary screening.  These individuals have entered 18 major U.S. cities.  The federal agent stated on conditions of anonymity, “…our government is not only allowing individuals from Ebola-stricken nations to enter the U.S. with only the basic screening they give to passengers from any foreign nation, but the claims of the issue being properly addressed in the West African countries are untrue.”  He continues, “All we are doing is asking authorities in nations with Ebola to stick a thermometer in the mouths of people boarding planes.  That does nothing to keep Americans safe from Ebola.”

In April 2010, USA Today reported,  “The administration quietly scrapped plans to enact sweeping new federal quarantine regulations that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention supported as critical to protecting Americans from dangerous diseases spread by travelers.”

In the span of about four years, the CDC went from a rigorous proposal which would have isolated disease, to trying to convince the American people that isolation may actually make things worse.  In what fairy tale land does this make sense?  Remember, these are the same people who want you to cover your mouth when you sneeze and cough.  They also want you to stay home when you are ill so as not to infect others.

The president continues to put Americans at risk.  This is just one more example of his contempt for America.  The enemy lies within.  How many Americans will be sacrificed?

“The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”
